A Beautiful Friday

The trees are just starting to bud. We went to Home Depot yesterday and many of their plants they had outside got frost bitten. I was going to get something but held off as just about everything showed the effects of the frost. Last night it didn't go below freezing.




It was really a nice day. Sunny out and the temps are in the 60’s. This afternoon B was off doing “manly man” things while I stayed home. Actually, he is helping to put the docks in the water. I spent the afternoon in the family room going through the VCR tapes and several bags full of miscellaneous “stuff”. For the most part I can now locate things.. A vast improvement!! 

Monday and Tuesday

Monday April 24
The sun is shining…. This is a good thing!!! We have had rain the past several days. Around 3 inches overall. The stream is really moving fast… we could hear it last night. We had thunder and lightning and heavy downpours. It’s 5:30 PM and the sun is finally out.
After they finished the bathroom our electrician, Jimmy, came back to do some additional work we needed. Two ceiling fans, outside plugs, an outside light on a pole and light in the storage area. He finished Sunday. Today someone took the washer and dryer along with some other things. So we are now enjoying solitude. B just said it’s so strange to have no one here!!!!
The light in the storage area is GREAT. It was so dark back there I couldn’t see the labels on the boxes. So, today I cleaned… There were paint cans and other things that had been left here from the two previous owners. I took all that stuff out to the garage to deal with Later. After sweeping and cleaning the area I got to work…. And made some headway. Stuff we haven’t used for two years in now in the “out” pile. I’m moving things around so I can find stuff easier. I’m locating things I knew I had but couldn’t find. The give away pile is growing! This is going to take some time… but, I will be able to locate things much easier.
On a more interesting note, dinner tonight is from a recipe off the internet. A Kansas City Steak Soup - NJ style… and I changed it so it’s now PA style. Smells good!!! Is good!

Tuesday
Nice day... cool in the morning but by mid afternoon it was kinda warm. Really made great strides in the storage area... and "found" some things. An old set of dishes I gave my mom back in 1963... corning and they look good. I remember I had a part time job... in high school at the time. I think she really liked them... memories. Getting cooler I moved the herbs close to the house as it might go below freezing... As I said... good day!

The bathroom is done!!! They finished yesterday and then I cleaned and put things back into the closet. We think it really looks great. For some reason in the picture the wall looks blue when it’s really white. The shower curtain is up and the rod is curved, giving more “elbow room” in the shower.


It’s a beautiful Easter Sunday. Yesterday was quite warm - up in the low 70’s. Today it’s in the low 60’s but sunny and really lovely. I got some herbs and planted them in containers I keep on the deck since the deer eat everything. If it gets too cold I can just move them up against the house and cover them with a trash bag. Too early to think about plants.

What a busy day! The sink is in and working. Looks really great.








And, the flowers are blooming (they weren't this morning) ... spring is here! 

Progress is made

We are really making progress today!! The doors of the laundry room were stained and hung and they continue to work on the bathroom. We should be done by Easter.
It’s a beautiful day.. Low 70’s and sun. They are calling for rain tonight. The daffodils are looking good… I’ll post a picture of them tomorrow.  

Things are really a mess!!!!!


The large area is the laundry area. Carpet is out and tile is done… the washer and dryer go in Sunday. It’s going to be great when it’s done!!






We have the tub tile done and the toilet in. It’s usable YEA!!! The vanity is in place and we got word today the marble top is in…. so we will go pick that up tomorrow so they can finish things up next week.





The dining room is a MESS - all the "stuff ends up here!!!! 

The tile in the bathroom is partially up and might be finished today. This is week two… we will be glad when it’s done!

















Snow flurries this morning on the way home from breakfast. The daffodils are looking good as you can see by today’s post. It was 34 out this morning and should be in the 50’s this week.  

It’s been a warm start for April! We worked out in the garage and yard yesterday and today. The daffodils are doing well…. They are getting bigger! The bathroom is progressing. The floor is down and they started tiling the tub area today. The heavy rain around noon caused them to stop.. As they were cutting the tile outside. So we headed to Sears to check out prices on refrigerators and stoves. At this point I think we will go with Lowe’s. No decision yet. Got a chicken at Sam’s and were home by 5:30. The house is a mess with dust and such. I vacuumed this morning but it still is dusty. However, it’s better than the “yellow funge” we had in South Jersey from all the pollen of the evergreen trees. All in all, a good week!
