It was a lovely day today, weather wise. However, we again had Internet access problems... boooo hisss. I always worry when this happens as I'm the one who sets things on the computers. This was the third time we called for service in the past several weeks. Long story short, the final fix at the pole resolved the problem and we now have service _ and I'm hopeful this will be the third time charm. (or what ever that saying is)
And this experience has really made me realize just how dependent on access to the Internet we are. Several times a day we are up here checking our email or doing other things on the Internet. Shopping, checking out prices, stocks, weather and such. And we had a scare as friends of ours are on a trip to Alaska and there, across the screen on the TV was the story about a cruise ship going down in Alaska... And was this the ship W & L are on????? I emailed Walt's sister for info - what ship are they on??? And, when I went to check my mail this morning... NO SERVICE... and so we were left up in the air... first thing I did, once we were back on line, was to check. And fortunately, that was NOT their ship.
So, we now are able to go on line and will shortly take it again for granted. But, I remember way back when we accessed over the phone to Prodigy and thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread... and yes, I do show my age :)

Frost Warning
Well, there is a frost warning tonight... so I just finished covering all the plants with sheets. I feel like Farmer Brown - I've been filling planters with soil and planting veggies for quite a bit. Super bean is doing great as are the lettuces and radishes. Tomatoes are looking good. Everyone says you can't plant here until June - but this is the second freeze we have been warned about and so I think we will be OK.
Today we did some outside work. All the plants are planted except for the coleus which is too little to move from the seed bed. So I spent time cleaning up the patio and getting things in order. Then B suggested using the power washer to clean off the potting bench - great idea and once I got going, I moved on to several other items. So I was soaked and cold but had really made headway. Tuesday - when we are to go up into the 80's is scheduled for power washing the outside chairs. That will do it... and we are cleaned up for outside. So lets hope the frost doesn't happen and the veggies and flowers (which I didn't cover) do fine.
And Happy Mother's Day to you all!!
