A Second Storm This Week

The storm hit us Wednesday night. By Thursday morning we had quite a bit. Then around 4 we went out and I cleaned the car and the porch while B used the snow blower. Here is the SUV yesterday around 2:00.

And it snowed all night and this is what we saw this morning when we looked out the window. The SUV is covered even though it was cleaned around 4 yesterday and that mound of snow in front of it is Lynn's car. Perhaps we will see that again next week :( The temperatures dropped and it's 23 right now.

This is the view from the window in the breakfast area. The snow has blown so while it's high on the railing, more fell than you can see here. We easily have 18 inches....
And it's STILL SNOWING!!!!

It's snowing

Last night it started to snow. However, you had to look very carefully to see a flake they were so few and far between. By morning we did have snow. Maybe and inch or so. The good news was the paper person had delivered the paper - indicating roads were OK as he was on time with the delivery, so, off we went.

The roads were snow covered but good. Of course B is a good driver - careful and sure.
The roads in town were fine also... but it's to snow all day and into the night so I'm sure we will have much more snow.
Well, it is pretty (right now that we are inside snug and warm).

This time we will get snow

Our friends in South Jersey have been experiencing all the snow as we did not get anything from the last storm. However, the storm that will arrive tonight should dump snow on us through Wednesday night. From what we know so far, we could get over 8 inches. (yea, I know, that's nothing compared to what you guys had) We are ready!! The cars are off to the side to allow B to plow the entire driveway. I have breakfast food in the freezer so if we can't make it out to breakfast, we can still eat :) I'm sure the ski places are happy. We again saw people fishing on the lake this morning. The temperatures did get up to above freezing - right now, at 4:58 it is 34 degrees. The nights have been very cold with temperatures in the teens.

My new toy is a pressure cooker. It's digital and much easier to use than the ones you put on the stove top. I got it from QVC and have purchased several cook books. Thus far I have made minestrone soup, a chicken dish where the chicken is cooked with veggies in parchment paper in a small basket above the water. The chicken cooked under pressure for 3 minutes and was really good. Last night I made cauliflower and red pepper soup that was cooked at medium pressure for 2 minutes. I then used my immersion blender and then added a bit of half & half... yum. I really liked that - B ate it but I''m thinking it did not make his top ten list! The most interesting thing I've made so far is cheesecake... and it was quite good. My oven is dead - the part needed has been ordered but I'm not able to bake anything. The cheesecake was steamed in a smallish pan that was covered. I followed the directions and it tasted really good. Think B enjoyed it because we have had it several times and he hasn't turned it down LOL

Stay warm...
