The bathroom gets a tub!!!
Today work on the bathroom got started. We had made sure that Lowe’s would deliver the tub, toilet and such today. The vanity, top and sink are not in. We pick up the floor tiles tonight. After dealing with plumbing work, the tub went in. The pictures show their morning work. I’m in the loft and they are drilling. I wonder when we can us it???

The bathroom is started
Ever since we moved up here, we have wanted to “do” the main bathroom. We have been talking about what we want - a whirlpool tub was on my list. B had a very modern sink and faucet on his. We both agreed the need to remove the carpet and put in a tile floor. Finding someone to do the job was the big problem. We have had difficulty finding contractors who return our calls. B had the great idea to contact our real estate guy to see if he had a recommendation for an electrician as we were having an electrical problem two weeks ago. Wow, one call and the electrician shows up the next day and solves the problem. We asked him for a quote to do some additional work and also talked about the bathroom. He knew someone who could help us and the two of them came by last week. We felt so positive about it that even without a quote we headed to Lowe’s and Home Depot to order everything we would need. The contractor said he would be by Friday with the quote. When he came yesterday morning he told us if we wanted he would start right away by ripping everything out. GREAT! I quickly emptied the vanity and closet and they got to work. They called us in to see the bath area - it had two layers of tile on the wall! (top picture) Strange. By 3:00 they were done and the room was gutted. They will be back Monday. In the meantime, much of what we ordered is in and B will hopefully be able to get one of his brothers to help him pick up the tub, toilet and cabinet tomorrow. The tile will be in on Monday and so it appears we are all set! Fast when you find someone who is responsive.
Not much left so we are ready to go Monday!

A Hint of Spring
It was a lovely day today after morning rain. It’s 3:00 in the afternoon and the temperature is in the upper 60’s. We were out running errands after lunch with no coats on! As you can see, the snow has melted. The top picture is the septic mound which is at the back of the house. You can just see a bit of the driveway.
I walked out on the mound and took the next picture looking back into the woods… our woods!
The final picture is looking down toward the stream. While I was taking pictures, B was washing the car. This warm weather isn’t going to last… they are calling for winds and bad weather
tonight and colder temperatures tomorrow with snow by the end of the week. So, we are enjoying the day with the doors and windows open. Spring isn't too far away.

Visited by the deer
We have been visited by a herd of deer... and I went out on the deck yesterday and took some pictures. For the past several days a large group has been going through the property. We counted over 12 at one point. Usually I don't have the camera close by.. so I brought it out to be ready to "shoot". They are cute as long as they aren't eating the shrubs!

Winter is Back!
They were calling for snow this morning ...and we got it. Local schools are closed. The snow started around 6:30 AM so we didn't make it to breakfast. I took these pictures around 8 AM - it's to snow most of the day and we are expecting 3 to 5 inches. The view out back from my desk in the loft is really pretty. The snow is heavy and straight down from the dark sky.
The good news is we have food and drink... so being snowed in isn't a problem.
