Yep, it was COLD

When we got up this morning we took a look at the clock to see just how cold it did get last night. It got COLD.. so cold I took this picture as we don't often get temperatures of minus 1. We did "warm" up to the teens and since it wasn't very windy we didn't feel too cold (of course we were in the house).
Right now the sky is rather pretty with pinkish clouds. No snow in the forecast.. just more cold. It's 17 right now.
On the way to breakfast this morning we saw several fisherpersons out on the lake by the dam. They were in what I would call the middle of that area. I don't care how cold it has been, I'd be rather reluctant to venture that far out on the lake as we were above freezing a week or so ago. Then again, I doubt I'd venture on the lake even if it had been below freezing for several weeks.
We have been keeping busy. I've been looking at "The French Chef" - I rented the CDs from Netflix. Boy, Julia is a stitch but the show is still interesting and she does teach you how to do the dish. I learned a lot about cooking from watching TV back in the late 60 early 70's and I still go back to my older cookbooks. I just made a soup from her first mastering cooking. I enjoyed looking at the movie Julie and Julia and also read Julia Child's book on living in France. Quite interesting and made her very real. I then looked at the movie and found Meryl Streep's portrayal of her right on... just how I imagined her. It wasn't a caricature of her - she seemed like a real person.
Well, off to start dinner. A recipe from the January issue of Martha Stewart's magazine. Sounds good - hope it is.
