A Nice Day

What a nice day! We both got a lot of things done around the house. Mr. B. washed and then waxed my red car. Thank you Bern!!!! It really looks so nice. He also got out the blower and cleaned the driveway of all those whirrly seed things that are falling from the trees.

I'm thinking that we are at the end of the spring mess.... pollen, junk from the trees, more junk from the trees and more pollen. We have both been clearing our throats. But we continue to say the irritation is not as bad as in Jersey... so we just deal with it.

I spent the morning doing things around the house. Just that normal stuff that one does - laundry, straightening and such. And I was on the computer - I'm into Farming or Face Book. And then there was the Sunday paper.

I then spent a lot of time this afternoon working on deciding how to plant the stuff we bought. We are scaling back. I have tried for the past several years, to plant in pots on our deck. The effort is not worth the results. So, this year I decided to just go for the herbs and flowers. That meant less pots which gave me the opportunity to reduce the number of pots I have. I'm sharing with family and friends. Anyway, today I moved stuff around and then moved it again. I decided to do all green pots as I had more of them than the terracotta pots. I had lucked into a SALE at Home Depot (I think three years ago) and bought up a large quantity of pots and a very very small price. And now I'm reducing the number. I'm still planting herbs. I've eliminated all veggies... I'll purchase locally... and am planting flowers instead. So today I moved stuff, cleaned the soil, added soil to the planters I'm keeping from the ones I'm giving away. And it was a good afternoon and I'm pleased with what I did.

So now to dinner. On the grill. Last night we had hamburgers on the grill. Tonight we are having pork cubes marinated in a Mo Jo marinate I purchased. I'm adding onions and two Minnie peppers... (gotta get more peppers). With that we will have the rest of yesterday's Cole slaw (home made) and piorgies with onions and sour cream. Should be good. Well, gotta go turn on the grill and get started.

Like I said, it was a nice day!!
